Horn Fire Protection was re-established in 2024 after my grandfather and company founder, Blaine Horn, unexpectedly passed. Having worked side by side with him through the years, and as a recent graduate from LCCC with an A.A.S in Business Management, I stepped into the role of continuing the day to day operations. Horn Fire Protection has always been a family owned and operated local small business, and I grew up helping with all aspects of its operation, along with my dad (Mike) and aunt (Michelle). I am a Class of 2022 Parkland graduate, Eagle Scout with Troop 1600, and proud dog owner to Waylon, my rescue mix. I understand that the most important part of a business is to care for the customer. As my grandfather told me long ago, “Do the work properly, be honest with the customer and treat them right. Success will follow”. I strive to ensure honest and precise services for all of our customers, and am dedicated to preserving the family legacy of small business quality and value.

Our services all follow NFPA 10 and local guidelines. All services will be completed according to regulations.

Our Services

Routine yearly inspection involving replacement of tag and seal, loosening of powder, checking gauge pressure and date of the extinguisher.

Recharging is done when an extinguisher has been used. Recharges can be done as long as an extinguisher is within its operable lifespan (12 years from manufacture or hydrotest date).

6 year maintenance is done 6 years after the manufacture date of the extinguisher (found on the bottom of the extinguisher or the side depending on the model) this replaces the powder and checks it for lumps, replaces rubber components, and cleans up the inside valve of the extinguisher.

We sell Buckeye fire extinguishers.

Any model or class of fire extinguisher is able to be ordered through us.

If we do not have what you need in stock, we will get it for you.

FAQs

  • Yes but there are some qualifications that must be looked at. First would be the manufacture date of the extinguisher. We replace extinguishers every 12 years. As long as it is within that date, free from large dents/structural damage, they can be done.

  • We replace dry chemical extinguishers after 12 years simply to help reduce the cost for the customer. While it may seem backwards you can get a brand new extinguisher for a little less than what it would cost to do the work to get them operable according to NFPA 10 regulation.

  • Yes. We will hydrotest all water/foam extinguishers, class K extinguishers, and co2 extinguishers. We do not hydrotest dry chemical extinguisher due to the high cost when you can get a new extinguisher for less.

  • Of course we can help! We can replace anything you need, and if we dont have a part in stock, we will get it for you.

  • NO! It has always been a goal to put the customer first no matter what. Fire protection shouldnt be painfully expensive. If we can save the customer money, we will. We care about you. All fees are listed in each category with all charges associated. We like to itemize our services so you can see where your money is going, and make you feel more comfortable and confident that you’re getting the best fire protection possible at a fair price.
